WhatsApp a video of the fault. Film the gate trying to open and close (10 to 30 seconds is enough), then send it with a photo of the motor label, any LED flashes or beeps, and your town or suburb. In most cases that tells us the likely fault before anyone travels. WhatsApp a video of the fault
What we fix
Centurion D5 Evo / D5 Smart and equivalent motors
Gates that will not close, safety beam faults, collision shutdowns, lost limits, remotes. Read the codes first in our D5 Evo LED and beep code guide. Tshipiworks is an independent installer, not an appointed Centurion dealer.
Gate motor battery replacement
Three flashes or three beeps on a Centurion controller means the battery is low. Power cuts wear batteries out faster. We test the battery and the charging circuit, then replace the battery with the correct type and size.
Gates off track, sagging or dragging
Worn wheels, guide rollers, bent or sunken track, broken welds and sagging frames. Because we are a fabrication workshop, we can re-weld and brace the gate itself, not only the motor. See sagging sliding gate fixes.
Retrofits and upgrades
Automating a manual gate, adding safety beams, an anti-theft bracket, extra remotes, or replacing a gate that is past repair. New gates start from P6,000.
Battery backup for power cuts and load-shedding
Most residential gate motors run from a battery that a mains charger keeps topped up. When the power goes off, during load-shedding or any other outage, the motor keeps working from the battery for a limited number of open and close cycles. How many depends on the battery size, the weight of the gate, how freely it runs and the motor itself.
If your gate gets slow, stops halfway or will not open after a short outage, the battery is the first thing to test. Repeated power cuts and heat shorten battery life. On a Centurion controller, three flashes or three beeps means the battery is low.
- Battery test and replacement: we test the battery and the charging circuit, then fit the correct type and size.
- Bigger battery for busy gates: complexes, guest houses and businesses that open the gate many times a day can be sized up for more cycles without mains power.
- Solar charging: where there is no mains point near the gate, or outages are long, a solar panel can charge the battery. It needs a sunny, unshaded spot and a correctly sized panel and battery; ask us to check your site.
- Free-running gate: a gate with good wheels and a level track uses less battery per cycle, so fixing a dragging gate also stretches the backup.
- Manual release: every motor has a manual release key. Keep it somewhere you can reach during a power cut.

Areas: Greater Gaborone and countrywide
We come out for gate motor repairs in Gaborone and Phakalane, Gabane, Mogoditshane, Tlokweng, Mmopane, Metsimotlhabe, Kumakwane and surrounding areas.
Outside Greater Gaborone we serve customers countrywide across Botswana. Start by WhatsApping a video of the fault: many problems (battery, safety beams, settings) can be diagnosed from the video. Where a visit is needed, travel is quoted up front, and it is worth combining the repair with other work, such as a new gate, fencing or burglar bars, on the same trip. See our town pages for Francistown, Lobatse, Palapye and all service areas. Welding repairs, re-hanging, new tracks and wheels are on our welding and maintenance page.
