The short answer. Tshipiworks steel gates start from P6,000 for the gate itself. Automation, track groundwork and power are added on top. The final price depends on width, infill design, finish and the motor you choose, so we quote after a free measure or from your photos.

We do not publish one price for an automated gate, because two "4 m sliding gates" can differ a lot in weight, design and site work. Below is everything a fair quote should list, so you can compare like with like.

1. The gate itself (from P6,000)

The gate is usually the biggest single cost. What moves it:

  • Width and height. Wider gates need heavier frame sections to stay straight, more infill and a longer track.
  • Steel sections and wall thickness. Heavier tube and angle make a stiffer, longer-lasting gate, and they cost more per metre.
  • Infill. Mesh is lightest. Horizontal slats, ClearVu-style mesh and laser-cut panels add steel and welding time.
  • Pedestrian wicket. A walk-through door built into the gate adds a frame, hinges and a lock.
  • Finish. Every gate we build is primed against corrosion. Powder coating or galvanising costs more up front and lasts longer.

A wide slat gate uses more steel and welds than a mesh gate of the same width.

2. The motor kit

We supply and fit Centurion or equivalent sliding gate motors. Motor size follows gate weight: a light mesh gate needs a smaller operator than a heavy slat or sheet gate. A standard kit normally includes the motor, a battery, remotes, a base plate and gear rack.

Motor kit prices move with the model, battery size and current import costs, so we quote the kit you need, supplied and fitted, at the time of your quote.

3. Track, groundwork and the site

  • A sliding gate needs a level concrete strip for the track across the opening and along the run-back.
  • Sloping or rocky driveways need extra cutting, building up or footing work.
  • Guide rollers or a guide post at the top, plus end stops, keep the gate upright and safe.

4. Power to the motor

The motor needs mains power near the pillar. Long cable runs, trenching and conduit are often charged per metre. Lay conduit before paving and later work will be cheaper. The battery backup lets the gate keep working through power cuts.

5. Safety and extras

  • Safety beams stop the gate closing on a car or person. We recommend them on every automated driveway gate.
  • Anti-theft bracket or cage, extra remotes, intercom or keypad, and solar charging where mains is not practical.
