Gates & security for Mogoditshane plots.
Mogoditshane grew from about 14,000 people in 2001 to more than 57,000 by the 2011 census, and it is still building. We are a short drive away in Gabane — close enough for quick measures, installs and follow-ups on homes, rental plots and new builds.
Plots with tenants, and gates on busy roads
Rental rooms need a security plan, not just a gate. Where a plot carries several rental units, the main vehicle gate gets opened far more often than on a single home. A separate pedestrian gate with its own lock box saves wear on the big gate (and its motor), while fixed burglar bars on every window and a steel security gate on each door protect each unit. Repeated window sizes can be batch-fabricated, which keeps cost and lead time down.
Busy road frontage favours sliding gates. A swing gate must never open outwards over the road, and an inward swing eats parking space. A sliding gate keeps the whole driveway usable; if it is automated, we recommend safety beams and a battery backup so it keeps working during power cuts.
New plots: secure the site first. Building materials disappear from open plots. Palisade or mesh along the boundary, with a lockable gate, protects the site while the house goes up — and the gate position is then already set for the final design.

Mogoditshane questions, answered
What landlords and homeowners ask us most.
Can you quote burglar bars for every window on a rental plot?
Yes. Send a list of window sizes or photos of each unit, or we measure everything on the free site visit. Repeated sizes are fabricated together, which saves time and money.
Should tenants use a separate pedestrian gate?
We recommend it. A pedestrian gate with its own lock box means the vehicle gate and motor are only used for cars, so they last longer, and you control who has keys.
Swing or sliding gate for a plot on a busy road?
Sliding, in most cases. A swing gate must not open over the road and an inward swing blocks parking. A sliding gate keeps the driveway clear.
Can you fence my plot before I start building?
Yes — palisade or mesh fencing with a lockable gate secures materials during construction and fixes the gate position for the final design.
